Ice Storm

The ice storm brought some excitment! First, church is canceled, then I didn't have to go to work Monday, Leo did though! It took him over an hour to get enough ice off the car so he could drive to work. The ice scraper was stuck inside the trunk and he couldn't get to it! Then we lost our electricity early Monday morning. Mom picked me up to go to her house. Pops had the day off and called to inform her that they were losing trees. Look atthe tree standing behind mom in the top picture. While inside the house we heard a crash and went outside to investigate, now look atthe next picture, that tree that is in splinters was standing in the top picture. So sad. Mom lost all three of her pear trees. They were my favorite trees.
Mom lost her electricity while Richard, Kim (Richards girlfriend), Brandon, mom, pops, and I were outside pulling the trees to the curb. Leo and I stayed the night there anyway. The next day mom got their electricity and we still didn't. So we stayed again there. And it was there that I saw something that I have never ever seen before. Leo was reading a book. No, it wasn't scriptures, I've seen him do that before. It wasn't a novel, but it was a book. It was the Mormon bathroom Reader. I had to capture it on film and share it with the rest of the world. Amazing! I was off work Mon-Wed because our office still didn't have power. Yeah, I was sad.
We finally got our power back Wednesday afternoon. YEA! But sadly, so did the office. It was back to work today. I hope that we don't get too much snow on Friday...it isn't close enough to a work day....

Wow, that must have been rough with no power! It's crazy being here in OH and hearing people talk about OK, crazy!

Those are sad sad pictures of my trees...wahhhhh! We still have an 1/2 inch of ice in some places-5 days after the storm. I cut on them some tonight, it's dark almost when we get home and haven't been able to finish cutting them down...but today I worked on them some-cutting little limbs that I could, and it hit me how I'm going to miss my beautiful trees. But there are more important things in life, and I'm so glad we are all warm and safe.
